Chemical risk factors

Monitoring programmes are used for chemical risk factors. Screening programmes for different substances are carried out at defined intervals.

  • Antibiotics. All milk  arriving to the dairy is tested before use.
  • Pesticides. Any impurities from water or cow feed can also be traced by tests
  • Contamination from packaging
  • Ensuring that cleaning processes are scaled so that no chemical residues from cleaning products end up in the products.

In addition, dairy technicians are trained to taste milk and to identify when milk does not taste as it should. Should the milk fail the test, it is withdrawn.
